Ah, you want movie recommendation, yes? Very good choice! “Once”! Like sunshine after the rain, so beautiful, so heart touch! Okay, okay, let’s see what we have… *adjusts glasses, peers intently at screen*
Once (2006)
This movie, ah, small little gem! Like perfect cup of jasmine tea on cold day. Guy meets girl, music happens, magic happens. Not so much grand explosions, more like gentle flowering. Simple story, but emotions? Ah, ocean deep! You watch, you feel, you remember.
Now, watching “Once” gives me feeling…makes me want to make something! Maybe good food, maybe good music. So, I think, ah, let’s share simple recipe, easy like movie, good for heart and soul!
Ginger Garlic Noodles - Comfort Food!
Ingredients:
- 8 oz egg noodles (or spaghetti, whatever you like!)
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced very fine
- 1 inch ginger, grated – fresh ginger is best, always!
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium if you are watching salt!)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar in pinch!)
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar (or honey, for little sweetness!)
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for little kick!)
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish, so pretty!)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish, make it look fancy!)
Instructions:
- First thing first: Cook the noodles! Follow package directions, but don’t overcook! Noodles should be al dente, little bite still. Drain noodles, then rinse with cold water to stop cooking process. We want them nice and ready!
- While noodles cooking, prepare the sauce! In wok or big pan, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Sesame oil makes magic, smells so good! Add garlic and ginger and cook for about 30 seconds. Be careful not to burn! Garlic and ginger burn easy, and then tastes bitter, no good! You want them fragrant, smelling nice.
- Now, add soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes (if you use!). Stir everything together, make sure sugar dissolves. Let it simmer for minute or two, sauce will thicken slightly.
- Add noodles to pan with sauce. Toss noodles to coat everything evenly. Make sure every noodle gets covered in that delicious sauce! Toss, toss, toss!
- Serve immediately! Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Makes it look professional, like restaurant food!
- Eat with chopsticks, or fork, whatever makes you happy! Enjoy with cup of tea, while thinking about beautiful movie. Ah, life is good!
See? Simple recipe, like simple movie! Both good for soul. Movie gives you feeling, food gives you energy. Perfect combination! Next time, maybe I recommend different movie, different recipe. But for now, enjoy “Once” and enjoy Ginger Garlic Noodles! You will not regret. Thank you for listening!
